Bordering the Annapurna area to the west and Tibetan plateau on the north and east, the Manaslu region lies in Gorkha district to the west of Kathmandu. 177 km trek physically closer to Tibet than any other and opened in 1991 A.D.
Basically this is a trekking area, the region altitude rise a mere 600 m to 8163m (the summit of Mt. Manaslu the eight highest peak in the world).
The area offers classic setting for trekkers. Visitors will have opportunity to experience both nature and culture that would have otherwise disappeared had there been no conservation efforts. The region is full of pristine nature beckoning trekkers to explore more of it. The trekking route follows the Budi Gandaki River before reaching Larke La pass 5106 m and crossing over into the Manang district.
